What we do

Networking and Collaboration

Since its inception, Ilkerin Loita Integral Development Programme (ILIDP) has used strategic alliances at different levels and with diverse organizations to facilitate service delivery at the community level. Through networking with other district partners, ILIDP has been able to influence the thinking and practices of the government and a number of organizations, such as the Maasai People’s Programme in Narok funded by World Vision.

There is very close collaboration with the veterinary department, provincial administration, and the Ministry of Planning and National Development in particular. Line government ministries, the Diocese of Ngong and the Narok County Council also work with ILIDP in staff secondment, information sharing and contribution of financial resources for improved service delivery at the community level.

Networking has also broadened opportunities for Ilkerin Loita Integral Development Programme (ILIDP) to share its lessons and experiences and exert its positive influence on other organizations. ILIDP is a respected member of various forums such as the District Development Committee, District Executive Committee, District Steering Group, District Education Board and District AIDS Control Committee. These alliances are focused at enabling the community to expand its opportunities for self-reliance.

Strategies and Approaches
Networking, collaboration, linkage, building of strategic alliances and maintaining connections are just a few strategies employed by ILIDP in this intervention. Ilkerin Loita Integral Development Programme (ILIDP) has also played an important role in influencing those with whom it is allied to think positively about the Maasai and pastoralism.
